A Tribute to South Shore Billy
This is the story of South Shore Billy, who resides on the South Shore (where else?) of Long Island New York. Billy loves baseball, basketball, subway trains, the Internet, and firefighting. He spent nearly 4 years in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era, when it was not the thing to do. He got back in uniform in 1985 by joining the Islip Fire Department.
His favorite baseball teams are the New York Mets, the Long Island Ducks, and the Brooklyn Cyclones. There are several of Billy's sites out there dedicated to the three teams, with links to other pages:
Brooklyn Cyclones
New York Mets
Long Island Ducks
Billy also played softball back in the college days, and more extensively from 2001 through 2006.
Among his favorite ballplayers of all time are four Ironmen, three of whom wore number 8. They are Lou Gerig, Yogi Berra, Gary Carter, and Cal Ripken. They are this domain's namesakes.
There is a family consisting of one wife and one daughter.
